Welcome to ResumeMatch AI ("we," "us," or "our"). By accessing or using our website and services at resumematch.ai (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). Please read them carefully before using our Service.

If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access or use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and capable of forming a binding contract to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet these requirements. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

2. Description of Service

ResumeMatch AI is a web-based tool that allows users to upload resume PDFs and compare them against job descriptions using keyword-matching analysis. The Service provides a match score and keyword breakdown to help users assess resume alignment with job postings.

The Service currently uses lexical (keyword) matching and does not incorporate artificial intelligence or semantic analysis. Results are indicative only and should not be relied upon as definitive assessments of a candidate's suitability for any role.

3. Account Registration

To access certain features, you must register for an account using your email address. We use a passwordless magic-link system — a one-time authentication link will be sent to your registered email. You are responsible for keeping your email account secure and for all activity that occurs under your account.

You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to notify us promptly of any changes. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that we reasonably believe contain false or misleading information.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Upload content that is unlawful, harmful, defamatory, or infringes any third-party rights
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service or its infrastructure
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or otherwise attempt to extract the source code of the Service
• Use automated means (bots, scrapers, crawlers) to access or interact with the Service
• Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity
• Upload resumes or documents containing sensitive personal data of third parties without their consent
• Interfere with the proper functioning of the Service or its underlying infrastructure

We reserve the right to investigate suspected violations and, at our sole discretion, suspend or terminate your access to the Service without prior notice.

5. User Content

You retain ownership of any content you upload to the Service, including resume files and job description text ("User Content"). By uploading User Content, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to process and store that content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you.

You represent and warrant that you have all necessary rights to upload your User Content and that doing so does not violate any applicable law or the rights of any third party. You are solely responsible for the accuracy, legality, and appropriateness of any User Content you submit.

6. Intellectual Property

All content, design, software, and materials that are part of the Service (excluding User Content) are owned by or licensed to ResumeMatch AI and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use our trademarks, logos, or other proprietary materials without our prior written consent.

7. Trial Access and Paid Plans

We may offer trial access to the Service with limited functionality. We reserve the right to modify, limit, or discontinue trial access at any time without notice. If we introduce paid plans in the future, the applicable pricing, payment terms, and cancellation policies will be disclosed separately and will form part of these Terms upon your acceptance.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components. We make no warranty regarding the accuracy, reliability, or completeness of any analysis results generated by the Service.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, ResumeMatch AI and its directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of or inability to use the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total aggregate liability to you for any claims arising from or related to the Service shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim or (b) USD $50.

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless ResumeMatch AI and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in any way connected with your access to or use of the Service, your User Content, or your violation of these Terms.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, for any reason, with or without notice. You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination shall survive, including sections on intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnification.

12. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by posting the updated Terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the Service.

13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in the jurisdiction where ResumeMatch AI is registered.
